‘We are fine’ – Douglas
Michael Douglas has denied that he and Catherine Zeta-Jones are in "crisis".
The 68-year-old star – who is currently in Europe promoting his new film Behind the Candelabra – told reporters that his marriage is "fine" and insists that they are just having a "temporary separation".
Douglas and Zeta-Jones have been at the centre of separation rumours over the past week, and her representative confirmed that the couple is "taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage".
However, when quizzed by reporters in Berlin on his rumoured marital trouble, Douglas said: "I have a crisis at home? No, I think the press has a crisis.
"We, we are fine. My wife and I are, are fine. We take a temporary separation, but the press, it gives you stuff to write about."
Douglas and Zeta-Jones – who have been married for 13 years – were last photographed together in April, and are reportedly planning to go for marriage counselling to work through their problems.
