Jay-Z to Headline 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

October 27, 2026

It’s official, folks: Jay-Z is headlining the 2027 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.

On Monday, 26 October, it was announced that the multi-hyphenate rapper – real name Shawn Carter – will be the featured performer for the halftime show, which will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on 14 February 2027.

“From [my debut album] ‘Reasonable Doubt’ to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

Jay-Z has been producing the Super Bowl Halftime Show since 2019, an event that has seen the likes of Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny perform for National Football League fans midway through the league championship final.

Social media users have mixed feelings about the 56-year-old “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker performing, with many claiming that he chose himself over others for the opportunity.

Others were positive, with one fan writing: “People are going to cry about Jay-Z headlining the Super Bowl, but hypothetically, he can bring out Beyoncé, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, even Linkin Park … and hit pretty much every demographic; it makes sense.”
