Watch: Arnie goes undercover at gym

January 24, 2014

In a hilarious video posted on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s YouTube account, we see him go undercover in order to raise funds for charity.

In the video, Schwarzenegger poses as a physical instructor who has recently been promoted to regional manager. He is disguised by a big moustache and long hair, and goes by the name of "Howard", walking around the gym giving advice and motivating gym users. He even wipes the sweat from one man’s forehead, and makes a woman take "ten reps" of water-drinking at the water fountain.

He mostly remains undiscovered – although the accent is a hard one to cover up – and one woman recognises him instantly.

The charity Schwarzenegger is promoting is the After School All-stars (ASAS), which has been running since 1992 and looks to empower the youths of America and to provide them with the tools they will need to have a successful career and life.

Schwarzenegger would like to raise fitness awareness to the younger generation in hopes of halting teen obesity, as well as providing a bright future to troubled youths.

ASAS initially started with holding annual summer time athletics and academic competitions and has since grown providing comprehensive out-of-school time programs to 92,152 participants at 346 schools.  They look to address the most pressing issues of youths today and to ensure, through guidance, that all youths are safe and healthy, find a career they love, and then give back to the community.
