Simon’s lover granted divorce
Simon Cowell’s pregnant lover Lauren Silverman and her businessman husband Andrew have reached an "amicable" divorce settlement in New York, People reports.
Andrew – who raises seven-year-old Adam with Lauren – filed for divorce shortly after news broke of Lauren’s pregnancy by Cowell, naming the music mogul as a co-respondent in the divorce and citing "adultery" as his reason for filing.
According to TMZ, the couple have agreed on a form of joint custody of their son, and Lauren will receive a settlement of just over $2-million.
"As I’ve said all along, my priority was resolving this quickly for the sake of our son," Silverman said in statement.
"Lauren and I both love him very much and I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter in our lives. Hopefully people will respect our family’s privacy."
Lauren’s attorneys added in their own statement: "The matter has been resolved and the parties have moved on."
Andrew and Lauren have been married for 10 years, and only separated after 36-year-old Lauren fell pregnant.
Meanwhile, Cowell has been on holiday on a luxury yacht in St Tropez. It was previously revealed that his legal team had advised him to steer clear of Lauren until her divorce was finalised, although a source told People that Simon "has been checking in on her and the baby".
