Sheen to pay for pap funeral
Charlie Sheen will pay for the funeral of the paparazzo who was killed while taking pictures of Justin Bieber’s Ferarri.
Chris Guerra (29) was struck by another vehicle earlier this month as he was crossing a busy road in Los Angeles while photographing Bieber’s distinctive white car and after hearing Guerra’s family were having difficulty raising money for the funeral, Sheen offered them $12,000.
The sports car had been stopped by California Highway Patrol for a routine inspection when the photographer appeared. He had been told twice the situation was unsafe and to return to his car. However, he was hit as he crossed the city’s Sepulveda Boulevard.
While Bieber was not in the car at the time of the accident, he reached out to offer his condolences to Guerra’s family following the incident.
The pop superstar said: "While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.
"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders and the photographers themselves."
