SA personality injured in car crash
Khanyi Mbau suffered minor injuries when she rolled her car three times early on Monday, the Daily Sun reports.
According to the newspaper, the socialite lost control of her rented car on the N1 highway near Grasmere in Johannesburg on her way back from a shoot in Kroonstad for her latest television venture, Room Divider.
According to the Daily Sun, Mbau was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor head injuries before being taken to Lenmed Hospital in Lenasia by ambulance.
According to the Drum Magazine, Mbau needed stitches.
She told the New Age that she was "fine" but was "sleepy from the pain medication" she was taking.
She said: "What happened was that while driving I swerved to avoid an object in the road and on the opposite side of the road there was a truck which I then had to swerve to avoid. The car hit the gravel and rolled to the other side of the road into a ditch.
"I was just glad that I didn’t hit any other cars because I would hate to claim a life," she added.
She told the Daily Sun that her car "rolled three times" and that "people were shocked to find me alive because the car was crushed like an envelope".
