Robbie plans new swing album
Robbie Williams will release a new swing album.
The Candy singer is preparing the sequel to his 2001 album Swing When You’re Winning in time for Christmas this year.
The singer’s first attempt at re-recording old swing standards was a huge success, selling six million copies worldwide, reaching number one in seven countries and yielding the UK number one single Somethin’ Stupid, recorded with Nicole Kidman.
For one track on the new album, Williams has recruited crooner Michael Buble, who said: "I got to know Robbie through The X Factor and I love him.
"The song is for his new swing album and it’s so good. We had too much fun making it."
However, before Williams (41) goes back to the studio to complete recording his second collection of swing classics, he is concentrating on his pop career, performing on his Take The Crown Stadium Tour, which runs until August across Europe.
