Reynolds up for ‘Selfless’
Ryan Reynolds is set to star in Selfless.
Reynolds and director Tarsem Singh are in talks to unite on the sci-fi thriller about a dying elderly man who has his mind transplanted into a younger body.
The film’s script was penned by Carriers writers Alex and David Pastor and will be a co-production between Endgame Entertainment and FilmDistrict.
The thriller centres on a wealthy elderly man transplanting his mind into a younger body upon learning he is close to death, but things take a turn for the worse as he discovers that his new anatomy is the dead body of a murder victim and finds himself facing death again as the killers hotly pursue him.
James D. Stern will produce for Endgame along with Peter Schlessel for FilmDistrict and Ram Bergman. The trio previously worked together on last year’s sci-fi hit Looper, which starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.
Reynolds recently lent his voice to animation film The Croods, which has just been confirmed for a sequel, and will next be seen in RIPD with Jeff Bridges.
Singh is coming off directing Immortals and Snow White re-telling, Mirror, Mirror.
