Red Hot Chili Peppers coming to SA
Cape Town – Big Concerts announced on Monday that Grammy award-winning rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will be performing live for the first time ever in South Africa.
The tour is scheduled for Saturday, 2 February at the Soccer City Complex, FNB Stadium, Johannesburg and on Tuesday, 5 February at Cape Town Stadium.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards including Best Rock Album for Stadium Arcadium, Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group and Best Rock Song for Scar Tissue.
They have also won 8 MTV Video Music Awards. In April 2012 the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Red Hot Chili Peppers consist of singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. They will be supported by local zef rave group Die Antwoord for their SA performances.
Tickets go on public sale via all channels for the Johannesburg performance at 09:00 on Wednesday 29 August, followed by Cape Town at 09:00 on Thursday 30 August.
