Rebel to join ‘Hunger Games’?
Rebel Wilson is in talks to join The Hunger Games franchise.
The Pitch Perfect actress revealed she has met with producers on the hit film saga – which stars Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence as heroine Katniss Everdeen – about starring in the next installment of the series as a resident of the fictitious Capitol.
Speaking to BuzzFeed, she said: "Um, seriously, I have had a meeting about being in The Hunger Games.
"It was one of the people in the Capitol. That’s all I’ll say.
"There aren’t a lot of roles open, because they’ve all already been cast, but that would be awesome. I’d love to be in The Hunger Games."
The second film in the franchise, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has already been filmed and is set for release in November.
The final two installments in the franchise – which are an adaptation of the third novel in the trilogy, Mockingjay – will begin production later this year for release in November 2014 and November 2015, respectively.
Wilson admits she "loves" the adventurous franchise, which is set in a dystopian future where young recruits are forced to battle to the death, and praised lead star Lawrence.
She said: "I met her at a party and she was super-duper nice. She’s really quite tall. Which I found – I don’t know if you get that impression when you see her in movies, but she’s quite tall. Yeah, and she’s just really nice and I love The Hunger Games and I can’t wait for the new one to come out."
