Ozzy needs to prove himself
Sharon Osbourne won’t reconcile with Ozzy until he has proven he is serious about staying sober.
The couple, who have been married for 31 years, were at the centre of divorce rumours earlier this week after Sharon was spotted moving into a new Los Angeles pad and the couple were spotted without their wedding bands
Earlier this week, Ozzy admitted to turning to drugs and alcohol again over the last 18 months, but then said that he had been clean for 44 days.
However, insiders told TMZ that this period is "not enough" for Sharon, who has lived with his behaviour for so long that she feels that she needs him to prove himself before going back to him.
The sources did insist that Sharon doesn’t view their separation as permanent.
A source said: "They’ve been through hell and back together. They’re not breaking up."
On Tuesday, Ozzy used his Facebook page to issue a public apology to Sharon and his loved ones for his "insane" behaviour in recent months.
Ozzy – who has children Jack, Aimee and Kelly with Sharon as well as three children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley – wrote: "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.
"Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.
"I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy (sic)"
