Oppikoppi warns against fake tickets

Cape Town – Oppikoppi organisers warned music fans on Thursday not to buy festival tickets from non-official sources after someone used a fake credit card to buy tickets for this year’s festival.

Oppikoppi posted the following on their : “There was a fake credit card and pseudonym of Anton Goosen (can you believe it) used to buy some tix for this year( 2012.). These tickets were voided.”

“If you bought tix like this, you are unfortunately stuck without tickets now. Please contact us if you would like to assist the police in this matter.”

They stressed that tickets can only be bought through the Standard bank student achiever portal, the OppiKoppi Facebook page or .

Oppikoppi 18, themed Sweet Thing, takes place in Northam, Limpopo from 9 – 11 August.

International acts that will be playing at this year’s festival include Black Handed Kites, Eagles of Death Metal and Bullet For My Valentine. Other bands that have been confirmed include
Lonehill Estate, The Graeme Watkins Project, Flash Republic, Dance
You’re on Fire, Shadowclub, Planet Joy, Valiant Swart and P.H.fat.

Tickets for the festival cost R700 from the Oppikoppi Facebook page, R750 at Ticketbreak.co.za and R600 when bought through the Standard Bank youth portal.
