OMD to perform in CT

Cape Town- Eighties hit group OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) is set for a one night only performance in Cape Town.

The Electricity singers will be at the Grandwest Casino, Grand Arena on 2 August.

The group which has been performing together for 33 years is known for hits such Enola Gay, Souvenir, Joan of Arc and Pandora’s Box.

According to a press statement by the organisers, Real Concerts, the group has not lost any of the appeal that saw them sell millions of records during their heyday.

“The band’s 2007 tour served as a reminder that they had never lost power or impact that they had demonstrated in the early 80’s.

“With a new album on the way and live performances scheduled around the globe, OMD continue to delight and entertain audiences from a far,” said Real Concerts spokesperson Kim Mari.

OMD released the album History of Modern in 2010 and have been praised by fans for keeping their original sound intact.
