‘Nothing wrong’ with Bieber
There is "nothing wrong" with Justin Bieber, his manager has insisted.
The 19-year-old superstar has come off a nightmare week in London – where he started a concert almost two hours late, collapsed during a separate show and was admitted hospital, and was involved in an altercation with a paparazzi photographer – but Scooter Braun has insisted that Bieber is fine.
Braun told E! News: "There’s nothing wrong with him. He’s in a great place. Justin is good, really good."
Bieber – who has just enjoyed a weekend off in Amsterdam – has admitted that his week in London was "hard", telling Bild: "I was working out every morning and had a huge show every night.
"When people are pushing their camera in your face all day long and yell mean things at you… I’m only human, too. I’m far away from home, I miss my family, my siblings and my friends."
A source has claimed that Bieber’s erratic behaviour is as a result of his January split from Selena Gomez after two years together, saying: "He simply hasn’t been the same since he split from Selena. It really broke him.
"They were together for such a long time for two people so young. He hasn’t quite known what to do without her.
"He is lonely. They kept each other very grounded and understood the level of fame that they both had. Now his friends know he needs their support more than ever."
Meanwhile, Bieber’s grandmother Kathy insisted that her grandson hasn’t turned into a "bad boy", and suggested he put on a free concert for his fans to win back some goodwill.
"I don’t think for one moment this is all about him being a bad boy. He’s only just turned 19 and he’s still learning to cope with the pressures of fame.
"But it’s worrying. You read all sorts of things about him … and he needs to understand some of those so-called friends probably don’t have his best interests at heart.
"I know he will be feeling depressed about the way things have gone in London, so maybe it would be a good idea if he were to go back there later and perform free for the fans who feel let down by him."
Bieber has been forced to cancel one of two shows in Portugal due to "unforeseen circumstances" – which Braun insists come down to loading and removing Bieber’s stage set-up.
