Muse’s wild post-show party
Muse threw a debauched afterparty with dwarves and strippers this weekend.
The Madness band celebrated their sold out show at London’s Emirates stadium on Sunday (26 May) with a hedonistic party on the rooftop of the city’s Madison bar.
Dwarves – two of whom were dressed as babies in suits – were employed to go around with trays of sherbet lined up as if it were cocaine, a joke by Drummer Dominic Howard in a nod to the party antics of fellow rockers Queen.
A source explained: "It was hilarious. Dom is best friends with Roger Taylor, who comes to all of their gigs. And he knows Roger is sick of being asked about the stories about Queen snorting coke from bald dwarves’ heads and making them carry coke around on silver platters.
"So they thought it would be funny to send dwarves around carrying lines of sherbet on trays."
Further entertainment provided by the Cirque Le Soir troupe, based on an Anti Corporate Greed theme, included more dwarves dressed as old age pensioners, a bearded lady strip tease and a pair of sexy gambling pigs.
One performer invited the band – which also includes Matt Bellamy and Chris Wolstenholme – to staple money to her body.
* Editor’s Note: We had originally published an anecdote regarding Bellamy’s fiancee Kate Hudson stubbing a cigar out on a performer’s tongue. We have since received word from Hudson’s attorney that the incident did not occur, and apologise unreservedly for publishing the false anecdote.
Musical entertainment was provided by an all-female string quartet, who were dressed as characters from the film A Clockwork Orange.
Muse then rounded off their night with a cheeky stunt, projecting their latest album cover for The 2nd Law onto St Paul’s cathedral, next door to the bar, without any permission.
