Miley quits Twitter – again
Miley Cyrus is taking a break from social media after rumours emerged that her relationship with Liam Hemsworth is on the rocks.
The couple – who got engaged last summer – are said to have hit a "rough patch" but the 20-year-old Can’t Be Tamed singer took to her Twitter account to claim that they haven’t called off their nuptials and say that she is "sick" of Los Angeles.
Writing on her Twitter page on Wednesday (6 March): "I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn’t call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining (sic)"
"My new music is gonna shut everyone up," she tweeted, before adding: "not discussing anything but my music from now on (sic)".
Hemsworth and Cyrus have been plagued by break-up rumours after he was spotted leaving a pre-Oscars bash in Los Angeles with Mad Men actress January Jones, while Cyrus attended a different party with her mother, and was reportedly "all over" other guests.
A source confirmed to People.com that the 23-year-old actor and the popstar are having problems but are eager to get past them and still hope to get married.
The insider said: "The wedding is still on. Miley and Liam have had some problems that they are working through. Miley doesn’t think it’s a big deal. She loves Liam and can’t wait to marry him."
A source revealed previously that Hemsworth was upset that Cyrus was spending so much time recording her fourth album, instead of being with him.
A source said: "Liam and Miley are done. Miley put her career on hold to spend all her time on Liam. Now that she’s back recording her fourth album, he’s not happy. She says she’s over it."
This is not the first time that Cyrus has quit Twitter. In 2009, the star deactivated her Twitter account and released a bizarre rap video telling the world that she had done so.
