Mann, Diaz to star together?
Leslie Mann may star opposite Cameron Diaz in The Other Woman.
The This Is 40 actress is in talks with 20th Century Fox to star in the salacious comedy about a woman (Diaz) who discovers that her lover is a married man and hatches a payback plot with his wife.
Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is in talks to play the role of the philandering husband, while Mann would play his wife in the revenge comedy.
The film will be directed by The Notebook helmer Nick Cassavetes, based on a script from Melissa Stack. The filmmaker previously directed Diaz in 2009 drama My Sister’s Keeper.
The comedy – which is said to be similar to Bette Middler’s First Wives Club but with younger leads – will be overseen by producer Julie Yorn, who previously worked on another female revenge flick, Bride Wars, which starred Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson as best friends turned enemies as they set their respective weddings on the same day.
Mann recently starred in husband Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up sequel, This Is 40 with Paul Rudd, and will next be seen opposite Harry Potter actress Emma Watson in The Bling Ring.
Diaz’s last role was opposite Colin Firth in Gambit, while Coster-Waldau and Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain’s horror flick Mama topped the US box office last month.
The Other Woman is set to begin filming later this year in New York City.
