Lindsay Lohan switches rehabs
Lindsay Lohan left the Betty Ford rehab centre on Wednesday (12 June) to check into a different rehab facility in Malibu.
The troubled actress’ move to Cliffside Malibu has been approved by prosecutors, a judge and Lohan’s lawyers.
According to gossip website TMZ all parties agreed the second facility was better suited to Lohan’s needs for the rest of her 90-day court ordered sentence, as Betty Ford, near Palm Springs, was more appropriate for a 30-day program, which she has now completed.
Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Holley told ABC News: "Lindsay is grateful for the treatment she received at the Betty Ford Center.
"She has completed her course of treatment there and looks forward to continuing her treatment and building on the foundation established at Betty Ford."
Lohan’s father told E! News that Lohan made the move largely because "she wasn’t getting any individual therapy" and it was the "same old thing to her".
Lohan has been in rehab six times.
Radar Online has quoted a source as saying that Lohan was "making life hell" at Betty Ford, saying that the star was "disruptive and wilful".
"Lindsay skipped group therapy, she refused to go for several days. She thought people were giving out information on her. That was her excuse."
According to the source, the clinic was allegedly considering asking Lohan to leave because of her behaviour, which included repeatedly asking for the ADHD drug Adderall.
However, it is unlikely that Lohan will be given Adderall – which she reportedly abused to help keep her weight in check – while at Cliffside.
Lohan is expected to complete her court-ordered rehab in August, after which she will jet off to the Venice Film Festival to promote her latest movie The Canyons, her team confirms.
