Lindsay checks out of rehab
Lindsay Lohan has checked out of rehab after her three-month court-ordered stint.
The actress – who served the first part of her rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic before switching to Cliffside facility for the remainder of her spell – was spotted sporting a huge smile as she climbed into a vehicle to leave the facility yesterday afternoon (30 July).
Sources close to the 27-year-old actress – who has famously battled alcohol and drug abuse and had a string of legal troubles – told gossip website TMZ that Lohan is planning to spend a few days with a sober coach in Los Angeles, as she feels that she needs a "transition" period before entering the real world again.
Lohan is, however, heading straight back to work on Monday (5 August) when she hosts an episode of chat show Chelsea Lately. She is also expected to head to the Venice Film Festival on 28 August to promote her latest movie The Canyons.
In addition, she will sit down for an in-depth interview with Oprah Winfrey that will tape and air in August, and will film an eight-part documentary series for the Oprah Winfrey Network, due to air in 2014.
Lohan’s mother Dina recently confirmed her daughter will be moving to New York City when she leaves rehab, rather than return to live with her at the family home in Long Island, New York.
She said: "Lindsay is 27, my kids all have their own places. She’s not going to move back home. She’ll be getting an apartment in New York. She’ll be in New York. It’s great because [her sister Ali] is in New York with Wilhelmina models.
"[My son] Michael is in New York. My other little guy [Dakota] is 17 and he’s still at home and going to St. Anthony’s. The rest may come home to mom, but they don’t want to live with me."
Lohan was sentenced to 90 days treatment for substance abuse issues after pleading no contest to charges for lying to police about driving during a car crash last June.
