Lengthy rehab stay for Brown?

October 31, 2013

Chris Brown is being urged to stay in rehab for three months to treat anger issues.

The singer voluntarily checked into a treatment facility in California on Tuesday (29 October) after being arrested for allegedly breaking a man’s nose outside a Washington hotel on Sunday, and a source has revealed that his management team want him to remain in rehab until early next year.

A source told the gossip website: "The rehab facility has been told to take him apart and put him back together."

Brown – who is still on probation for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 – could face up to four years behind bars if a judge decides that he violated his probation, and is reportedly open to remaining in treatment to prove that he is serious about overcoming his anger issues.

A spokesperson for the singer said in a statement on Tuesday: "Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behaviour, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."

Brown was released without bail on Monday (28 October) after he and his bodyguard were arrested after hitting a man who tried to jump in on a photo Brown was taking with two women.

His team insists he is not guilty.

This is not the first legal challenge Brown has faced this year. His probation was temporarily revoked after he was involved in an alleged hit-and-run incident – although charges in that case were eventually dropped – and he was sentenced to a further 1000 hours of community service in connection with his assault of Rihanna after questions arose over whether or not he originally completed his original 1400 hours of community service.
