Kings of Leon rocker weds
Jared Followill has married Martha Patterson.
The Kings of Leon rocker — who popped the question to the model in April after just a few months of dating — confirmed the news on his Twitter account just hours before the couple walked down the aisle on Saturday (29 September).
He wrote: "Today, I get married. It’s the biggest step I’ve ever taken. I’ve dreamed about this day since I was a little girl."
Patterson also confirmed their nuptials were taking place, tweeting: "Marrying my best friend today. I’m the luckiest girl in the world."
A guest told People: "They had a great farm-to-table cuisine with all of their favorite things. It was down home and very real. It was very much true to their style."
Earlier this week a source close to the couple revealed they were planning a low-key wedding.
The source said: "They’re excited and a bit nervous. They’ve dreamed up a family affair with homespun and rustic details. Jared picked the perfect woman to settle down with."
The 25-year-old bassist proposed in Nashville with a four-carat cushion-cut diamond, set on a diamond band, which he designed himself.
Followill’s brother and bandmate Nathan is currently expecting his first child with wife Jessie Baylin, while their other sibling Caleb – the group’s singer – and his wife Lily Aldridge welcomed daughter Dixie Pearl into the world in June.
