Kim picked her own ring

October 24, 2013

Kim Kardashian reportedly picked out her engagement ring herself.

According to Radar Online: "Kim had picked out her own Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.

"[She] told Kanye to get the ring from Lorraine Schwartz because she loves the jeweller’s diamonds. She knew the proposal was happening, she just didn’t know when it would happen."

And according to expert jeweler Adelaide Polk-Bauman, Kardashian’s engagement ring could be worth between $7-million and $8-million – much more than the original estimated value of $3-million – because the diamond has been flawlessly cut.

Polk-Bauman told the New York Daily News: "This is exceptionally rare. Very few places in the world have diamonds such as that."

In comparison, Kardashian’s engagement ring from Kris Humphries in 2011 – also designed by Lorraine Schwartz – was supposedly worth $2-million, despite boasting 20 carats’ worth of diamonds.

A source added: "Before Kim gave the ultimate seal of approval on the sparkler, Kanye looked at over 20 diamonds. The diamond has no flaws and has more sparkle than Kim’s previous ring."

West pulled out all the stops for his proposal to Kardashian, and rented out the AT&T Stadium in San Francisco, hired a 50-member orchestra, secretly flew in her closest friends and family, and hired one of the city’s top caterers for the night.
