Kim and Kanye’s mansion woes
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s $11-million home is still nowhere near complete.
The couple – who welcomed their first child, North West, in June – had the Bel Air mansion completely gutted in a bid to create their dream home, and it has been revealed that it could still take months before their lavish makeover is finished.
Although the property was brand new when she purchased it, Kim reportedly discovered problems with the electricity, water and heating – and had to have the home completely rewired.
Kim and Kanye were living with Kim’s mother and manager, Kris Jenner, when work began – but have since rented another mansion while work continues on their estate.
It has previously been revealed that the couple spent over $1-million on six beds for their mansion.
The beds – made by the same company that provides beds for the Savoy Hotel in London – were six of 60 made to honour Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee. Each bed reportedly costs $190 000, takes over 600 hours to handcraft, and is made from gold silk, cashmere, horsehair and lambswool.
In addition to the luxurious beds, the Daily Mail reports that Kim and Kanye have purchased gold toilet seats to the tune of a cool $767 000, and are thought to be splashing out a matching amount on their kitchen, which will include a Swarovski-encrusted fridge.
A source said: "They expect the interior to cost twice as much as the property. They’re spending more than a million on a security system alone."
The property reportedly boasts a hair and makeup salon, bowling alley, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball court, movie theater, and custom gym.
