Kidman knocked down by pap
Nicole Kidman was knocked down by a paparazzo on a bicycle in New York yesterday (12 September).
According to eyewitnesses, the paparazzo – identified by a fellow photographer as Carl Wu – was trying to take a picture of the star outside the Carlyle hotel when his brakes failed and he slammed into Kidman, knocking her to the ground.
Photographs of the incident show Kidman getting up straight away, putting her heels back on, and being assisted into the hotel.
According to E! News, police and paramedics were called to the scene, although Kidman did not request medical attention.
New York police confirmed that the 19-year-old Wu was taken into custody and later released after being issued summonses for reckless driving, riding a bicycle on the pavement and riding without a helmet.
Kidman still managed to walk the red carpet at a Calvin Klein party for New York Fashion Week last night, where she told E! News that the incident "was awful, but I got back up."
When asked if she planned to press charges, Kidman told E! News that she didn’t know anything about the man who ran into her.
"I was shaken up and I’ll deal with it later," she said. "I’m here for this now."
She added that while she is used to the paparazzi attention, it can still be "terrifying".
She added: "And luckily I got up but there will be a time when someone does not."
