Kelly Clarkson announces pregnancy
Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.
The singer – who married music manager Brandon Blackstock in an intimate ceremony last month – took to her Twitter account today (20 November) to announce the news.
The 31-year-old tweeted: "I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)"
The news came after Clarkson was forced to postpone a show in Tennessee due to "illness" on Saturday night – which is now believed to be an episode of morning sickness.
The former American Idol winner has been vocal about her desire to start a pregnancy, and recently admitted to Jay Leno that they had been "trying, trying, trying … like rabbits!
"I want a little baby with little feet and I just want to bite them."
Blackstock has two children from a previous relationship – who were the only guests at the couple’s wedding last month – and Clarkson revealed that being a stepmother has made her broody.
She added: "They’re so great. I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five."
