Injured Gaga postpones shows

February 13, 2013

Lady Gaga has been battling chronic pain from an injury sustained on tour.

The Bad Romance singer has been ordered to postpone a number of her upcoming Born This Way Ball shows after being diagnosed with synovitis – a severe inflammation of the joints – which has left her barely able to walk.

In a series of posts on her Twitter account last night (12 February), Gaga apologised to her fans, writing: "I barely know what to say.

"I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for some time now, over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal.

"I hid it from my staff. I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However, after last night’s performance I could not walk and still can’t."

The singer was forced to put off two shows in Chicago, one in Detroit and one in Hamilton and told her fans that she couldn’t "forgive" herself for disappointing them.

"To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devasted & sad," she wrote.

"It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry."

Gaga has been on a rigorous 116-show tour schedule that kicked off in Asia on 27 April 2012. The Born This Way Ball is currently scheduled to end on 20 March 2013.
