Gus directs ‘Fifty Shades’ demo
Gus Van Sant has directed a Fifty Shades of Grey sex scene starring Alex Pettyfer.
The Milk director – who is one of the filmmakers being considered to direct the big screen adaptation of EL James’ erotic novel – filmed the steamy scene as a demo to convince movie studio Universal to hire him for the job.
While the scene features the Magic Mike actor as Christian Grey, the identity of the actress playing protagonist Anastasia Steele is unknown.
The salacious scene is thought to depict Anastasia losing her virginity to the enigmatic businessman.
Movie studio Universal, which is behind the big screen project, has not commissioned any test reels for the film and has not yet made a decision on a director.
Van Sant reportedly created the scene on his own accord.
The director has previously earned Oscar nominations for Milk, which starred Sean Penn as openly gay politician Harvey Milk, and Good Will Hunting, which was written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
Pettyfer will next be seen in Lee Daniels’ The Butler with Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard and Forest Whitaker.
