Britney closes in on Vegas deal
Britney Spears is reportedly in “advanced talks” for a residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
The Toxic singer – who called off her engagement to Jason Trawick and quit her role on The X Factor last month – has been approached by several venues for an extended residency in the city but Planet Hollywood are thought to be close to agreeing a deal, according to People.
Spears has hinted at a Las Vegas deal, replying to a recent tweet from her dog Hannah’s Twitter account which read "Mommy, are dogs allowed to gamble in vegas? Gonna cash all my bones in for chips.” with a "I don’t think so honey #VivaLasVegas (sic).”
However, friends aren’t sure the 31-year-old singer will cope and believe she would be happier at home with her sons Sean Preston (7) and Jayden James (6).
A source said: "I’m not sure just how good an idea Vegas is for Britney right now. If she can’t handle The X Factor – how will she be able to perform five days a week in Vegas?
"She’s a homebody, she loves her sons and has her daily routine. At this time, she may need to concentrate on her health and happiness – not rebuilding her career."
The source also went on to detail how involved Trawick – who has hardly been pictured without Spears by his side in the last year – was in their relationship and how he guided her through the stressful filming of The X Factor.
They said: "At auditions, Jason would calmly escort Britney by the hand back and forth to her seat during breaks. He was there for her."
