Bieber to face felony charges over eggs?
Police officers want Justin Bieber to face felony charges for his involvement in an egg-throwing incident.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department passed the case on to the LA County District Attorney (DA) on Thursday (6 February), and has strongly recommended that the star be harshly punished for his involvement in the incident, which allegedly caused $20 000 in damage to his neighbour’s home.
Lieutenant Dave Thompson told gossip website TMZ: "I went to the DA’s office today with the paperwork, and I want a felony. Of course I want a felony."
According to BANG Showbiz, the DA is expected to make a decision on the case – which was originally filed as a misdemeanour, but could become a felony due to the extent of the damage – in around a week.
Bieber’s friend Lil Za (20) has been charged with felony possession after being found with Ecstasy and the painkiller oxycodone during a raid on Bieber’s home. He is also being charged after breaking a pay phone while in police custody. If convicted on all counts, the aspiring rapper could face up to nine years in prison.
Bieber is currently facing a string of other criminal charges over two cases: In Miami for driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an invalid license; and another in Canada, after he allegedly assaulted a limo driver late last year.
