Anne Hathaway gets hitched

October 01, 2012

Anne Hathaway has married Adam Shulman.

The Les Miserables actress tied the knot with Shulman – who she became engaged to in November 2011 – at a small ceremony in Big Sur, California, on Saturday (29 September).

Around 150 guests attended the nuptials, which began on Friday night (28 September) with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn and Spa ahead of the wedding at a nearby private estate.

Hathaway wore a gown designed by her "very good friend" Valentino, and the décor at the celebration was "vintage and nature-inspired with branches and twigs, and there were ivory colored roses set up on wooden tables inside the tent," according to E! Online.

Hathaway and actor-turned-jewellery designer Shulman began dating in 2008, and the Dark Knight Rises star said she had been looking forward to being single until she met Shulman and "fell in love like a fool".

She said: "I am very much in love with him, only Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"

Earlier this year Hathaway claimed that she wanted to hold off having her wedding until 2013 as her schedule was too full.

She said previously: "We’re getting married, probably sometime next year-ish. Not this year, its too big with two films coming out.

"I haven’t started planning yet. I was filming Les Mis when we decided to do it, and there was no way I could think about anything wedding-related with my head in the space it was in then. I’ve been so busy since then, I’ve not even decided what sort of ceremony I want."
