A South African film version of Step Up is on the way and you can check out the trailer below.

The film titled Hear Me Move tells the story of Muzi (played by newcomer Nyaniso Dzedeze) who gave up dancing as a promise to his mother, after his father (a legendary ‘pantsula’ dancer) was murdered. He then gets back into the dancing habit when his father’s former dance partner offers Muzi to join his dance crew, which sets off a chain of events in Muzi’s life such as: making enemies, keeping his promise and finding out the truth behind his father’s murder.

The film also stars S’thandiwe Kgoroge, Makhaola Ndebele and Lillian Dube. There are also cameo appearances by Alfred Ntombela, Khanyi Mbau, Lorcia Cooper, Boity Thulo, Thembi Seete, Amanda Du Pont and radio DJ Khutso Theledi.

The film is set in urban Johannesburg and features ‘sbujwa’ and ‘pantsula’ dance sequences.
Hear Me Move is set for release December 19, 2014.
