What’s your favourite soapie?

Most of us got hooked on soapies when we hit our teens. Maybe it’s the imaginary world created by characters with never-ending drama. I started off watching Days of our Lives. I’ll never forget the moment when Marlena died and was possessed by a demon.? Let’s g not even go into the endless love triangle between Bo, Hope and Billy… Talk about scandals!

Then there’s Generations which documents the on-going rivalry between media empires. Plus there are juicy storylines with the female characters fighting over men – the first one that springs to mind is the twins Zinzi and Zoleka who were fighting over Archie Moroka? I never missed an episode.

My new favourite has got to be 7de Laan with funny characters like Hilda and Oubaas, not forgetting former waitress, turned model and now newspaper columnist Paula. It’s so hilarious!

So we decided to ask our Facebook fans  about their favourite soapies. “The only soapie I can stomach lately is the wild I have outgrown Generations and Isidingo no straight story line,” Thembeka responded.

Isidingo came in first with 10 votes.
7de Laan slipped into second place with 6.
Then Generations lagged behind with 4 votes.
Fourth place belongs to Scandal, which had 3 votes.
