New Info Released About Presley Gerber’s Death
New information has emerged concerning the death of model and mental health advocate Presley Gerber.
On Sunday, 20 September, Gerber was pronounced dead by paramedics at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California.
Police records confirm that there was a call from the facility, which reported an overdose and cardiac arrest that morning.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, an autopsy was completed on the 27-year-old model the following day (Monday, 21 September).
“A deputy medical examiner performed an examination today, and the cause and manner of death have been deferred, which means additional testing and/or studies were requested in order to make a determination,” the statement read.
“Due to the ongoing death investigation, the [deputy medical examiner] cannot disclose what testing and/or studies were requested. Deferred cases can take a few months before a cause of death is determined.”
Prior to his death, Gerber – the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber – spoke openly about his struggles with depression and substance addiction. He frequently chronicled his health journey on social media, sharing earlier this year that he was undergoing treatment.
A representative for Gerber’s family has asked for privacy during this “difficult and painful time.” Meanwhile, the Santa Monica Police Department is leading an investigation into his death.
