Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Returning to Britain
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making their grand return to Britain.
According to reports as of Wednesday, 19 August, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex informed King Charles III of their decision to move back over the past weekend. It is understood that they will subsequently be recognised as private individuals, maintaining their focus on their business endeavours.
The couple will settle down at a private, non-royal residence outside London, England. As for their two children – seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet – they will be enrolled at a local school.
Prince Harry and Markle sparked massive headlines when they stepped back from their royal duties and relocated to Montecito, California, in 2020.
In the wake of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis in February 2024, Prince Harry has undertaken several solo visits to Britain to see his father. The most recent visit in July saw him joined by Markle and their children.
An insider told an American media outlet that the 77-year-old monarch “looks forward” to spending time with the Sussexes, although he won’t budge on changing their non-royal statuses.
