Perez Hilton in Hospital After Shocking Livestream
Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton has been hospitalised after appearing in a disturbing, now-deleted TikTok livestream.
On Tuesday, 4 August, Hilton – real name Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr. – livestreamed himself allegedly engaging in self-harm, much to the shock of his viewers.
Clips from the livestream – which show the 48-year-old online personality covered in what looks like his own blood – quickly spread throughout social media, sparking concern among fans.
According to the latest reports, deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Hilton’s Florida residence. After speaking with family members at the scene, they confirmed that he was alone inside.
With their aid, Hilton was transported to a local hospital to receive medical attention. Authorities are also providing support to his family members.
“In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance and opportunities for communication,” the Sheriff’s Office told an American news outlet in the aftermath.
“Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilising crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, deputies and the public.”
