Lively and Baldoni Settle Lawsuit
Actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have officially settled a high-profile civil lawsuit that gripped Hollywood for nearly two years. The resolution, reached on May 4, 2026, concludes a legal battle stemming from the production of the 2024 film It Ends With Us.
The dispute began when Lively alleged a hostile work environment and harassment during filming. Baldoni countered with claims of defamation and extortion, alleging Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds attempted to seize creative control. The tide turned in April 2026 when a federal judge dismissed Lively’s harassment claims, ruling she was an independent contractor rather than an employee.
The parties released a joint statement focusing on the film’s core theme of domestic violence awareness. They stated, “It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace.” While financial terms remain confidential, the settlement includes a collaborative donation to survivor support services.
Legal experts noted the settlement likely clears the path for future franchise developments. Reflecting on the resolution, Baldoni noted through a representative, “Raising awareness and making a meaningful impact in the lives of survivors remains the primary goal.” Both stars are now shifting focus to separate upcoming projects.
