June 20, 2012

Cape Town – It’s just 78 seconds long but the first full-length trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final instalment in the blockbuster Twilight movie franchise, is what millions of fans have been waiting all year for.

In the new trailer released on Wednesday, which was preceded by a that was released online less than 24 hours previously, we see Bella and Edward introducing their baby daughter Renesmee to the world.

We also see Bella (Kristen Stewart) revelling in her new life as a vampire, saying, “I was born to be a vampire”. Bella was transformed into a vampire after she lost her human life during a harrowing birth scene in Breaking Dawn Part 1 that saw Edward (Robert Pattinson) chew his baby out of a weakened and emaciated Bella.

Immortal child

But in Breaking Dawn Part 2, the newlywed couple’s parental bliss is shattered when the powerful vampire royal family the Volturi learn of Renesmee’s birth and believe she is an “immortal child”, a powerful creature who has been turned into a vampire during infancy and whose existence has been banned by the Volturi.

Renesmee, played by 11-year-old Mackenzie Foy, grows exponentially over the course of the film and sets off an all-out war between the Volturi and the Cullen vampire clan and their allies.

The final Twilight Saga movie introduces a host of new characters, including Lee Pace and Joe Anderson as nomadic vampires Garrett and Alistair, whom the Cullens turn to for support in their fight against the Volturi.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be released in 3D on 16 November.
