Rafe recognizes Sami’s grief over Grace as the reason for her overreaction and sends her off to set up a picnic at a secret place Sami knows of.
Nicole asks Stefano about what he’s doing to keep Rafe from nosing around in their business and Kate pilfers Chloe’s cell phone before she’s discharged from the hospital.
Later, Kate poisons the brownies on the talk show set, and plans for Chloe’s demise to occur on Daniel’s last day of taping. When Daniel learns Chloe got sick again, he refuses to leave Salem until he figures out what’s wrong.
Slightly tipsy, Philip invites Melanie to go for a drive with him in his new sports car, Maggie is led to believe from the tape Kate had spliced together, that Daniel is threatening Chloe and Chloe collapses and is rushed to hospital.
Daniel calls for a special antidote that will hopefully save Chloe’s life, Melanie rejects Philip’s tempting offer to ride in his new car as she waits for Nathan and Daniel eventually manages to administer an antidote to the lethal drug Chloe has ingested.
Bo arrives and wants to question Daniel, Philip and Melanie come together in a kiss, but Melanie pulls back and admits there’s someone else she’s interested in.
Lexie pronounces Chloe dead, but much to Daniel’s joy and Kate’s dismay, her heart manages to start up again.
Meanwhile, Bo and Hope question Daniel, who is stunned that they consider him a suspect.
Hope reveals the pharmacist described Daniel as the person who picked up the toxic drug and as Hope and Bo continue to ask him about the poison, Daniel realizes that Kate was responsible for poisoning Chloe.
25 – 29 June
Daniel directs Bo and Hope’s suspicions toward Kate, but she gives a convincing performance as the wronged ex-lover, making Daniel look guiltier than ever.
EJ accuses Nicole of keeping secrets; she in turn, turns it around on him and brings it back to Sami and Grace.
Stephanie comes to Philip to apologize for her behaviour, Daniel is brought to the police station in handcuffs and Hope conducts the formal questioning.
Daniel insists he’s innocent, Kate faces Victor’s questions and suspicions of her hatred and quest for revenge against Chloe and Kate and Philip tell Lucas the truth about Chloe and Daniel’s affair.
Daniel tells Bo there is no way he tried to kill Chloe and Bo, in a quest to find a new lead, dispatches Hope to question Lucas.
EJ remains disturbed about his dream about Sami holding Sydney and Nicole, thinking things are resolved with Mia, is freaked out when she senses EJ knows something about Sydney . Later, Nicole meets up with Sami and worries that she already knows.
Nicole visits Chloe in the hospital and is devastated by her condition, Brady enters and witnesses Nicole’s pain over Chloe and Kate manipulates Will into supporting her and Lucas.
Lucas confronts Daniel in jail about his affair with Chloe and Daniel in turn, tells him about Chloe’s pact with God, and insists Chloe never broke her promise.
