Star rules out ‘Hulk’ movies

Mark Ruffalo has dismissed the idea of appearing in future Hulk films.

The 44-year-old actor starred as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the blockbuster The Avengers, but he has ruled out appearing in any future standalone films about the huge, green comic book character.

Ruffalo told MTV News: "I think they’ve done it. I think they feel that they’ve done that. I think they don’t really know where to go [with the character]."

The last decade saw the character rebooted twice, with Eric Bana taking on the titular role in 2003’s Hulk and Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk five years later.

It was previously reported that Ruffalo signed a six-picture deal to play the character in future films, but it seems that could include appearances in future Avengers sequels and other Marvel projects.

However, Ruffalo has previously expressed his wish to play the character in a standalone film, saying he wants to get The Avengers writer and director Joss Whedon "in a room and work out what could be a Hulk movie".

But it seems those plans are no longer in the pipeline.
