Zidane Praises Ronaldo, Team After Atletico Madrid Win

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has praised his team as well as star striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, for their exceptional performance against rivals, Atletico Madrid, during a Champions League game on Tuesday evening.

Real Madrid completely thrashed Atletico Madrid, 3-0.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo who was the star of the show, however. The Portuguese international scored all three goals, adding yet another hat-trick to his already impressive career.

Zidane praised the work of Ronaldo, but also said that the entire team had a stellar game.

“Cristiano is a goalscorer. He’s unique…All the players were brilliant. One player comes off and another one comes on and plays a great game…We knew what we had to do from the off and we played the game we wanted to,” he said.

While Zidane was very happy about the performance of his team, he also said that they still have a long way to go before they can claim victory in both the Champions League and La Liga.

“We’re content, very happy and we can enjoy it, but we still have a long way to go in the Champions League and La Liga…I don’t think that we’re euphoric and imagining ourselves in the final. There’s no such thing as an easy game and we need to play a perfect game…in order to go through,” he said.

He continued, telling reporters that he is very lucky to have the players he has in his team.

“We try to play our football and enjoy ourselves. It works because we have great players with great attitudes,” he concluded.
