South Africa have suffered a defeat at the hand’s of Zambia’s Chipolopolo, after the visiting team defeated the home side 2-1 at the Moruleng Stadium near Rustenburg.

Bafana Bafana seemed to dominate the game in the first half of the match.

Bafana Bafana’s Lebogang Manyama only narrowly missed a goal in the first few minutes of the game. He quickly recovered and scored the South African team’s only goal of the match, putting them in the lead 1-0 at halftime.

The second half saw Zambia increase their attack, which paid off in the 71st minute when Zambian striker, Mwila Phiri, netted an amazing goal.

This goal spurred the Zambians on and, only 8 minutes later, Lubiba Mundia scored Chipolopolo’s second goal.

Bafana Bafana failed to score an equaliser and the game ended with a win for the visiting team.

This was Bafana coach Stuart Baxter’s second game in charge of the South African national team.

His first game was South Africa’s AFCON qualifying match against Nigeria on 10 June, which Bafana won spectacularly 2-0. It was a first-time win against Nigeria for South Africa.
