Woman Attacked by Crocodile in Zimbabwe

November 24, 2016

A Zimbabwean woman was snatched by a crocodile and fatally injured on Sunday as her friend looked on in horror.

The woman, who was busy doing washing in a dam in the Masvingo province of Zimbabwe, was snacthed unsuspectedly by the crocodile, who apparently leaped out of the water and grabbed the woman.

The biggest tragedy of this story, is that – according ot the woman’s friend – she had seen the crocodile before the attack happened. However, she then believed that the crocodile had gone away, and she continued doing her washing.

It was then when the crocodile grabbed the unsuspecting woman.

The accompanying friend was not attacked, luckily, as she was out of the water and busy washing her clothes in a bucket on the land.

The woman’s body – said to be mauled badly – was discovered in the dam the following day.

Crocodile attacks in Zimbabwe seem to be on the increase as of late. Just last week, a fisherman was snatched by a crocodile at a dam in Hwange and just two weeks ago, a young boy was also fatally attacked by a crocodile while he was fishing to raise money for school fees in the Save river.

It is also being reported that the crocodile population in the country has grown tremendously over the past few years.
