William Shatner’s 4th Marriage Fails to Live Long and Prosper
William Shatner, and his fourth wife – of 18 years – Elizabeth Shatner, have called it quits on their marriage.
The 88-year-old “Star Trek” actor – who was previously married to Gloria Rand, Marcy Lafferty and Nerine Kidd – tied the knot with the 61-year-old horse trainer in 2001.
The couple have no children together, although Shatner has three daughters – Leslie, 61, Lisabeth, 58, and Melanie, 55 – from his marriage to Rand.
Per court documents, the couple separated on 1 February this year. They also show that it was Shatner who requested the divorce, and that the lawyer he hired has been used by celebrities such as Kim Kardashian in their divorces.
A source explained to a media outlet: “The Shatners are still negotiating the financial terms [of their divorce]. Per the terms of the pre-nup, neither party will receive any support from the other.”
With a pre-nup in place and no kids to worry about, it is believed that the divorce will be finalised quickly – in other words, Shatner does not have to worry about giving Elizabeth all he’s got of his estimated $100 million fortune.
