Whoopi Goldberg Lifts Lid on “Sister Act 3”
Hallelujah – another “Sister Act” sequel is seemingly in the pipeline!
The original 1992 film centered around Whoopi Goldberg’s character, Delores Van Cartier, a lounge singer who goes into hiding at a convent after witnessing a murder. The flick also starred Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, and the late Mary Wickes.
A sequel, “Sister Act 2: Back In the Habit”, was released the following year, and shot co-star Lauryn Hill to stardom.
Now, in an interview on the “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on Tuesday, 6 October, Goldberg confirmed that a third installment is in the works.
The 64-year-old comedienne explained: “For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it. And then quite recently, it turns out, that may not be true. People may want to see it. So, we’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back.”
We certainly can’t wait for when the film is ultimately released!
