West Ham Gear Up For Historic Match

June 07, 2023

Fans of West Ham United are gearing up for their first Europa Conference League final in 47 years tonight, Wednesday 7 June.

The Hammers will be taking on Fiorentina at Fortuna Arena in Prague, Czechia in what manager David Moyes has described as the “biggest moment” of his career.

“It is slightly surreal,” the 60-year-old told an international publication on Tuesday, 6 June. “It’s great to be sitting here in a European final, for any manager it’s a thrill.”

Adventurous fans of the English club could also be heard singing on the flight over to the European city, as they geared up to see their beloved team fight for their first major piece of silverware since 1980, when they won the Football Association Challenge Cup.

It’s been a rocky season for Moyes and his team, as they battled to reach 14th place on the English Premier League table, with only 40 points. Fans have heavily criticised the manager’s style, even creating banners that demanded “Moyes Out” as the season began to draw to a close.

It appears that this will also be the last game in the red and blue uniform for captain, Declan Rice, who is currently courting offers from rival teams.
