West Ham Axe Manager
West Ham fired manager, Slaven Bilic, on Monday morning.
Bilic was axed less than 24 hours after the club fell to 18th on the Premier League log.
Liverpool thrashed the Hammers 4-1 this weekend, in their sixth league defeat of the season.
Bilic, who hails from Croatia, joined the club as manager in June 2015.
The 49-year-old had a great first season, followed by an average second season last year.
This year, he was supported by upper management during the transfer window, bringing in top players such as Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez.
But this hasn’t helped West Ham to pick up steam.
Bilic appears to be taking it well, saying: “I am sad and disappointed but not in the club, I expected it, to be fair.”
West Ham has already replaced Bilic with former Everton and Manchester United manager, David Moyes.
This is the first time in almost eight years that West Ham has appointed a new manager in the middle of a season.
