Welsh Sports Hall of Fame Honours Ryan Giggs
Ryan Giggs, current coach of Wales’ national football team coach and former Manchester United legend, has become the latest sporting great to be inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame.
The iconic midfielder was one of five additions to the Roll of Honour at a ceremony held at Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday, 26 June.
The 45-year-old won 23 titles during his 25 years with the Red Devils, including 13 Premier Leagues and two Champions League victories.
He scored 12 goals whilst collecting 64 caps for his national team, for whom he was made manager in January last year.
Laura McAllister, chair of the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame, said: “We have added another famous five sporting greats to our roll of honour, and it was fabulous to have Ryan [Giggs], Michaela [Breeze], Jazz [Carlin] and Steve [Fenwick] joining an audience of nearly 400.”
Giggs was previously recognised for his contribution to the beautiful game, having been inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
