Watch: Katy’s Super Bowl performance
The Super Bowl took place in the US yesterday, and pop star Katy Perry performed during the event’s halftime period – a slot previously filled by stars such as Madonna and Beyonce.
Perry performed a medley of her past hits including Roar and Firework, and was joined on stage by two guest singers.
Guest number one was rock singer Lenny Kravitz, who joined Perry in a rendition of her first number one single I Kissed a Girl.
Guest number two was none other than hip-hop legend Missy Elliot, who performed three of her own songs, including Get Ur Freak On, Work It and Lose Control.

Perry’s performance was highlighted by colourful set pieces including performing on a robotic lion during her hit single Roar, before shifting over to a chess board and performing Dark Horse, where she was accompanied by dancing chess pieces.

Perry then did an I Kissed a Girl duet with Kravitz who was jamming with an electric guitar while the pair were surrounded by a rock band and pyrotechnics.
She then ventured to the beach and performed Teenage Dream and California Gurls, dancing with surfboards, beach balls, palm trees and sharks.

Elliot then made an appearance and performed Get Ur Freak On and Work It with Perry joining in on the fun. While Elliot performed her final number Lose Control, Perry ran off the stage to prepare for her finale while Elliot entertained the crowd.

During the finale, Perry was surrounded by colourful floating balls as she belted out the first lines of her inspiring song Firework. Perry then slowly lifted into the air and flew across the arena with a star-like rocket and – you guessed it – fireworks.
