Watch: First ‘ Suicide Squad ‘ footage
Suicide Squad footage was screened at Comic-Con this past weekend and studio Warner Bros. wasn’t planning on showing it to the rest of the world.
However, due to the leakages that followed, the studio has decided to release the footage online and you can watch it below.
Suicide Squad is DC Comics’ super villain team-up film where imprisoned villains are forced by the government to join the Task Force X team, and to go on dangerous black ops missions that are considered impossible or suicidal.
Considering that Suicide Squad is still in the process of filming, the footage offered is quite impressive as we get to feast our eyes on three minutes what we can expect when the film opens in August 2016.
Each Suicide Squad member is featured in the trailer including The Joker’s lover and henchwoman Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie) and Will Smith’s assassin Deadshot.
Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller – the woman in charge of the Task Force X team – is seen in the footage as well. There is also a small appearance by Batman on top of a speeding car.
And of course we’re left with the best for last as the clown prince of crime himself, The Joker (Jared Leto) makes an appearance towards the end uttering dialogue that’ll have audiences in chills.
Check it out below:
Judging by the trailer, Suicide Squad looks pretty dark and really serious – a formula that DC Comics films are taking in order to differentiate itself from Marvel.
Leto’s Joker comes across as pretty twisted and hardcore. Will he be able top Heath Ledger’s version of the character?
Suicide Squad hits cinemas in August 2016.
