She’s beautiful, she’s talented and she’s taken the world by storm with her music video for Channel 4’s Prototype but that’s not what defines alternative pop star Viktoria Modesta.
The star is a true representation of bionic after enduring 15 surgeries since birth to correct her leg. She eventually decided to have an amputation at age 20 to improve her mobility.
Channel 4 invaded UK X Factor with the video debut and told The Guardian that it was a riposte to “painfully dull and manufactured” pop stars and offered an alternative to a world of “homogenised pop”.
Modesta did and now she’s blowing up on the internet with her new single and dark video. The video has been making the rounds on the internet and has made her a worldwide sensation and major talking point.
The video has a tag line “Forget what you know about disability” and that’s exactly what the video sets out to do:
